Tuff Up Chocoholic is a 2004 15.3 hand AQHA bay stallion that is producing color! His dam was a red dun, and so far he has only produced one bay foal- the rest have been duns, buckskins, palominos, red duns, and red roans. His foals have been stamped with his height; his first foal crop has the shortest foal being 15.2 hands, and his second foal crop is going to be taller than the first. In 2010 his first Paint foals were born, one is a red dun minimal white overo (out of a chestnut overo mare), the other a very flashy red roan sabino. His first Appaloosa foals will be born in 2011, hopefully we will see that he continues to produce color even though he is a bay!
Tuff is a gentle stallion; he can be ridden by children in the same arena as mares. His foals seem to be getting his personality under saddle; the two year olds are easy to break out and are being used as children's horses.
The 2011 breeding season will most likely be Tuff's last season as a stallion. He will be gelded and shown in youth classes and 4H in the fall of 2011, allowing his son, the 2010 Palomino Colt, Zips Chasin Gold, to take his place as the farm's stallion.
